We are entering into unprecedented times. Our current extractive economic system has pushed our planet beyond it's limits1 posing an existential threat to the human family and the natural ecosystems we belong to.
Action is needed in all layers of the system to rebuild it from the inside out to incentivise regeneration over extraction- quite the challenge. Available Light is a photography term that refers to the challenge of only using ambient light sources to light a subject.
Unprecedented times call for unprecedented measures. We have all the "available light" we need in the current system- resources we can repurpose to build a new one. Now it's time to take the unprecendented measure of stepping into this challenge.
While emerging technologies such as AI play a significant role in the threats we face, using it safely as a means to regenerative ends is essential if we are going to succeed in this rebuild, accompanied by generations of indigenous wisdom lighting the dark path ahead.
Available Light was founded in 2025 to gather contributors and collaborators in a new way to supply support to the wave of entities who are building in the Nature Markets space.
